The Middle East is home to some of the world’s wealthiest families, so it’s not surprising that global wealth management firms have set their sights on the region in the hopes of attracting billionaires as clients. HSBC’s Aladdin Hangari has promised to double his division’s $50 billion AUM within his first year, and he has the experience and support necessary to do just that.

In a Bloomberg article written by Archana Narayanan, Dinesh Nair, and Ben Stupples, Wingspan founder Christina Wing is quoted on the importance of relationships in the business world of the Middle East. “You’re not going to end up doing business with anyone that you haven’t had dinner with in their home – that is when the real relationship starts.”

Hangari has a strong track record, connections in the Middle East, and the support of HSBC executives. These factors, combined with a focus on building personal connections with clients, will set HSBC up for success in this market.
